To ensure that our materials are used appropriately and with professional care, we request that all purchasers register with us before placing an order. Materials supplied by Harcourt Assessment are intended for use by professionally qualified practitioners and are not available through bookshops or other third parties.

We encourage all clients to complete our registration form irrespective of whether materials are purchased. Details will be entered to our client database of registered test users, and test update information and catalogues will be forwarded to you automatically.

We will not supply restricted tests to customers unless we have evidence of appropriate qualifications. Based on the information provided on the Individual Registration Form an individual User Level is assigned.

Harcourt Assessment adheres to the strict ethical guidelines for psychological testing best-practise and benchmarking as provided by professional bodies including the International Test Commission (ITC) and the Australian Psychological Society (Ethical Guidelines, 2002), who recommend that:Tests should be made available only to persons able to assume ethical responsibility for their use. Where purchases of tests  are made through a central agency within an organisation, professional authorisation of the purchase by a qualified health professional is essential. Tests will be acquired and used with full regard for the rights of authors, publishers, distributors and copyright holders.

In addition to the above standard User Levels, there are also User Levels which indicate the individual has completed accredited training for a restricted product – B1, S1, T1, C1, HR1 or M1.

After successful completion of training user levels will be updated as appropriate. For example: if a User Level T (Teacher) wants to administer the CELF-IV Screening test, accredited training must first be undertaken. After training is completed, the teacher’s user level will be reassigned to a T1.
